I have been watching with amusement and disgust over the last several weeks, as Senator McCain and Governor Palin have pulled stunt after stunt in desperate attempts to see the surge in support they briefly experienced after the GOP convention.
From "halting the campaign" to calling Senator Obama a terrorist and then waiting a few days for it to sink in to call off their dogs and on and on and on...
Now the McCain supporters are getting in on the act like 20 year old Ashley Todd, but more importantly, every right-wing nutjob with a blog and online following.
They latched onto the story of this woman's "attack", who was so desperate to gain some sympathy and votes for her chosen candidate (probably dreadfully fearful of having a "terrorist muslim" as our next President as many of the conservatives I've talked to believe) that this sad woman cut up her own face and claimed it was because she supported McCain and Palin.
The "Mavericks" themselves even called the "poor woman's" family. Now, it comes out and she admits she did it to herself and bloggers are printing retractions, some making excuses and others just flat out deleting the blogs like they never even happened. (Example's like this one
https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=5110975792502927263&postID=9020858208855508716
But what about their commentators?
Jonathan Martin was one of the bloggers who latched onto the story
http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/1008/Its_getting_ugly_out_there.html?showall"
and these were among the comments. I wanted to start with the first one because he's all over the place with this and like he says "I just copied the text from the comments to post and re-post once the ATM footage comes out" (The footage is out. Foot, meet mouth and I copied YOUR comments.) This is only a sampling of the comments. Many of them were very similar.

BTW... I just copied the text from the comments to post and re-post once the ATM footage comes out... Good public relations for Barack. The cutting by the thief was bad but the comments here were worse because they were made by supposedly thoughtful and educated people... Wrong

This is exactly why I do not have any McCain yard signs or bumper stickers here in the liberal hotbed of Seattle. It is not safe. I wear my McCain/Palin button only when I don't mind people hating me. Free Speech? Not in Obama land.

One of the Obama/Ayres footsoldiers, no doubt. Expect more of these Obama/Ayres controlled thugs to be roaming the streets if "The One" steals the election. They will enforce the "Change" that Obama is threatening.

(OMG, Big scary Obama supporters are running amok! Hide your children! Lock the doors!)
Is this all you compassionate libs have to say is that it looks fake because the B is backwards? If he were standing over her with his feet above her head, this is the direction the B would be. What a bunch of classless clueless dems!

(Pssst Richard, they weren't classless and clueless. They were smart and savvy. They saw the lie for what it was! How about clueless, desperate conservatives?)
Listen to you people! A woman is attacked, and you say 'it's because of those hateful Republicans.' You have got to be kidding me. Doesn't your Messiah preach a more positive message?

(Yes, he teaches us to think. Try it!)
The Obamatons here are truly scum. First you try to excuse the crime by linking it to the McCain campaign, then you claim the victim falsified the crime.
This isn't like some vandalized vans and graffiti. There's an actual human victim here. If evidence turns up that the crime was faked, I'll be appalled and disappointed. But for now, we have no reason to doubt this person.
Really, the fact Obamatons are so partisan they're willing to excuse criminal behavior for their narrow political ends is truly disgusting. I thought we'd started moving beyond the "blame the victim" mentality which ironically the Left was so active in trying to change.

(I really want to find I Knew A Phony's post where he/she is now appalled and disappointed. I looked, they're strangely silent...)

These are the people supporting McCain/Palin. It isn't just Ashley Todd who has mental issues. These people were out in force on the 23rd and they were MAD. So mad that the picture of a woman with a perfect, backwards, scratched 'B' on her face didn't raise one red flag in the areas of their brains that controls common sense.
Why? Because they wanted to believe it. Some of them probably still do.
THIS is why we have to get out and vote on November 4th and if you're in an early voting state, do it now!
